Mental Health Week
Posted 2 Oct 2025

This week marks the start of WA Mental Health Week (4–11 October), leading into World Mental Health Day on 10 October. It’s a time to recognise and celebrate the communities across WA who are making a real difference by reducing stigma, encouraging open conversations, and helping people reach out for support without judgement.
This year’s WA Mental Health Week theme, Empowering Communities, Thriving Workforces, is about having the power to take charge of your own mental health journey and recovery; the power to find purpose and connection through meaningful employment; and the power to support others within your community to stay mentally healthy.
Throughout the week, stories of lived experience, recovery, and life beyond labels will shine a light on the strength of individuals and communities.
Connect with your community
On World Mental Health Day (10 October), Mental Health Australia’s theme is Connect with your community.
Community is at the heart of Act Belong Commit. When we find ways to act, belong and commit, we not only build our own mental wellbeing, but also strengthen the fabric of our community.
Community looks different to everyone – it might be your family, neighbours, your mob, a local choir, a community garden, a book club, a men’s shed, a parkrun team, a crafting group, or a volunteer network. Wherever we feel included and supported is better for our mental health.
