Individual Categories

Category One Child		Category Two Youth
This award will acknowledge a West Australian child aged 12 and under who epitomises the ‘Act-Belong-Commit’ way of life.		This award will acknowledge a young West Australian person aged 13–25 who epitomises the ‘Act-Belong-Commit’ way of life.
Category Three Adult		Category Four Senior
This award will acknowledge a West Australian person aged 26–60 who epitomises the ‘Act-Belong-Commit’ way of life.		This award will acknowledge a West Australian person aged 61+ who epitomises the ‘Act-Belong-Commit’ way of life.

School Categories

Category Five Mentally Healthy Primary School		Category Six Mentally Healthy High School
This award will acknowledge a primary school in Western Australia that demonstrates an outstanding commitment to promoting positive mental health and well-being in the whole school as well as contributing to the wider community. To be eligible for this category the school must be partnered with Mentally Healthy WA.		This award will acknowledge a high school in Western Australia that demonstrates an outstanding commitment to promoting positive mental health and well-being in the whole school as well as contributing to the wider community. To be eligible for this category the school must be partnered with Mentally Healthy WA.

Group Categories

Category Seven Act-Belong-Commit Partner		Category Eight Act-Belong-Commit Site
This award will acknowledge a Western Australian Act-Belong-Commit community partner that demonstrates an outstanding commitment to promoting positive mental health to their members, participants, spectators and the wider community. Note: Community partners must be officially signed as an Act-Belong-Commit partner.		This award will acknowledge a Western Australian Act-Belong-Commit site that demonstrates an outstanding commitment to creating a mentally healthy community. Note: Sites must be officially signed as an Act-Belong-Commit partner and have a designated Act-Belong-Commit Project Officer.

Recent research suggests that the sorts of lifestyle factors promoted in Western Australia’s Act-Belong-Commit mental health promotion campaign could contribute to reductions in problem drinking in older adults. While most Australians enjoy the occasional beer or glass of wine, with no risk to their health, some Australians’ drinking habits are harmful.

What is Act-Belong-Commit?

Act-Belong-Commit is a mental health promotion campaign that encourages individuals to take action to protect and promote their own mental wellbeing.
