Winners announced for Design an Ad competition

Posted 31 Aug 2022

Four students have been named Act Belong Commit winners this week after submitting entries into 7West’s ‘Design an Ad’ competition which featured mental health and wellbeing through an Act Belong Commit category. Hosted by 7West’s Media Education program, the competition called for students across WA to get their creative juices flowing, read a proper advertising brief and design their own ad. Students were asked to brainstorm ideas, be persuasive and be creative to design an ad for a real messages and companies. Act Belong Commit was one of nine organisations that students could choose to design an ad for. Two primary and two high school winners were chosen for each organisation.

Special congratulations to Asha Glindon from Davallia Primary School, Asha Ryan from Mullaloo Beach Primary School, Alexandra Misic from Morley Senior High School and Lucy Matthew from Mount Lawley Senior High School for their winning entries promoting Act Belong Commit.

“Being creative and committing to a challenge are great ways to boost mental health and wellbeing so congratulations to all students who took time to submit entires”, said Meg Clarey, Campaign Manager of Act Belong Commit.

Not surprisingly, two of the winning entries for the Act Belong Commit category came from partner Mentally Healthy Schools where the message of Act Belong Commit is embedded within their school community.

“Congratulations Morley Senior High School and Mount Lawley Senior High School for showing how well students have a handle on the Act Belong Commit message.

“It was fabulous to see how Lucy Matthew and Alexandra Misic portrayed the message of Act Belong Commit in their own way,  showcasing their design skills at the same time,” said Meg Clarey.
