May 8 - 14 is Volunteer Week and to celebrate we’re running a competition!


To enter simply tell us how volunteering helps you keep mentally healthy in 50 - 100 words. The winning entry will recieve an iPad!

Details:

  • Competition closes Friday 5 May at 5pm.
  • Judging criteria will be based on the story that best conveys the link between volunteering and good mental health.
  • A photos is encouraged to be submitted with each entry.
  • Maximum of one entry per person.
  • The winning entrant will be notified on Tuesday 9 May.
  • The winner will be announced on the Act-Belong-Commit Facebook page on Wednesday 10 May, 2017.



Volunteer for happiness:

 Volunteering to help others, is probably one of the best ways to feel good about yourself and strengthen your own mental health. There seems to be something naturally satisfying about knowing you have made a difference by helping someone else.

Reaching new heights

We’re pleased to support our campaign ambassador Garth Civil on his latest personal challenge, a climb to the summit of Mount Imja Tse (more commonly known as Island Peak) in Nepal.

Garth, a career firefighter, has been involved with Act-Belong-Commit as campaign ambassador since 2013 and very much lives and breathes the Act-Belong-Commit ethos.
