Linking Together Carer Group - South West

Are you looking after a family member or friend with disability, mental illness, chronic condition, terminal illness, an alcohol or other drug issue, or who is frail aged?

If yes, then Carers WA would like to invite you to join our new 'Linking Together' Social Support Group in Augusta. The Linking Together program hosts monthly events in rural and metro areas to encourage new and existing carers to become more involved within their local community and take a break from their caring role. It also allows carers to share information, develop friendships and potential local support networks, and the opportunity to go on and establish their own groups.

Second Thursday of every month, commencing on 14th May 2015

Time: 10.00 - 11.00am

Standing Strong Together: Aboriginal Act-Belong-Commit logo shared across WA

Mentally Healthy WA this week released an Aboriginal logo and slogan for use state-wide. The adaptation of the well-known Act-Belong-Commit message is designed for use by Aboriginal partner groups who want to promote social and emotional wellbeing in communities across WA, and for organisations who sponsor or support events run by Aboriginal groups.

The logo and slogan, ‘Standing Strong Together’ were developed on the traditional land of the Ngarluma People alongside Elders, local Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal people in Roebourne. The project looked at how the Act-Belong-Commit campaign could be culturally adapted for Aboriginal people. Read more...
